Location: Uganda (focus on Northern Uganda)
Duration: August 2025 – August 2026 (Call Down basis)
Background
A prospective client is helping large Ugandan companies working with smallholder farmers to green their operations and supply chains. This involves adopting environmentally sound practices that reduce emissions, conserve resources, protect biodiversity, and build resilience to climate change. Companies supported will also strengthen their Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) performance, making them more competitive and eligible for green finance (e.g., concessional loans, grants, blended finance, carbon markets).
Consultant Role
Brand Power Consulting is seeking to pre-qualify consultants with expertise in environmental sustainability, climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, and green finance to join its pool. Selected experts will be engaged on short-term assignments (2 weeks or less) to provide technical assistance to private sector partners.
Scope of Work
Consultants may be called upon to provide expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Renewable Energy, including solar, biogas, mini-hydro, wind solutions, energy audits.
- Water Management, including irrigation, rainwater harvesting, watershed management.
- Carbon Reduction & Sequestration, including carbon baselining, MRV systems, registration support.
- Waste Management & Circular Economy, including product lifecycle assessments, upcycling, agro-waste reduction.
- Green Finance Readiness, including ESG reporting, green finance proposals, certification pathways.
Deliverables
- Diagnostic reports with greening opportunity mapping.
- Technical designs for interventions (e.g., irrigation systems, energy efficiency upgrades).
- Green finance readiness toolkits and proposal drafts.
- Baseline metrics for climate and environmental performance.
- Capacity-building sessions for company staff.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven track record in climate-smart or green innovations.
- Hands-on experience with agribusinesses or large companies.
- Knowledge of ESG reporting, green finance, and voluntary certification schemes.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Agricultural Engineering, Natural Resources, Renewable Energy, Water Resource Management, Green Finance, or related field.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and capacity-building skills.
- Experience in Uganda or East Africa preferred.
Contracting Mechanism
- Consultants will work under Brand Power Consulting through a Call Down Agreement with the client.
- Assignments are short, time-sensitive, and will require rapid mobilization.
- Only pre-qualified consultants will be considered for Task Orders during the programme period.
